Didi rarely ever saw the light of day. She spent most of her days tied to a wooden pole in her one room house while her father went to work. She never knew her mother. She never knew love. She knew loneliness. She knew hate. She new darkness.
She learned crying didn’t help. Nothing helped but to be quiet- because when you went unnoticed they didn’t beat you.
Didi was rescued and brought to Village of Hope shortly after her 4th birthday. Because of being tied to that pole for several years- she’d never being given the chance to walk. The muscles in her little legs were weak and her spirit was broken.
Didi has been receiving physical Therapy as well as given a special diet and daily vitamins the past year and a half. We are beyond excited to announce that due to her hard work and partners like YOU who give generously- Didi took her first steps last week.
