Continue to pray for those hit the hardest

Orphan care has always been my heart. And so has orphan prevention.

So for those of you who have a heart for Jesus and helping families stay together- here is your opportunity to act.

We are now feeding weekly over 275 families a week since white flags started going up around our ministry indicating family have no food.
This is not our main ministry. We have 57 children living at Village of Hope that we provide care for as well. The needs are tremendous.

Families around us who were already struggling have lost their jobs.

Children are being abandoned.

The malnutrition rate has tripled in the country.

Desperation is at every corner.

During food delivery today we stopped for awhile to talk to and encourage Esperanza. Esperanza has three beautiful children. The pain in her face was hard to shake. Esperanzas husband lost his job due to Covid 19. He found a side job last week and received Q50 (just a little less than $7) for his weeks pay. He worked the 2nd week but the employer was unable to pay him.

A family of 5 trying to survive on $7 for two weeks. I don’t know how we can judge someone who abandons their child when they have had to watch them starve.

Next went to visit Maikol.

Maikol is 15 years old and was so proud to tell us how he was working full time previously for a construction company. He helped carry blocks- that is until he fell off the truck. He had surgery at a public hospital but has been in tremendous pain ever since. The medication to help with the pain cost Q126 (roughy $16) and when you cannot afford to eat you go without.
The pain in his eyes was more than I could bare. His mom gently stroked his hand. I could sense her pain too.

Several other women opened up and shyly admitted they were out of soap to wash themselves and their children.
Pain. Fear. Shame.

We handed out bag after bag of food as they lined up thanking us over and over again. We reminded them they are not forgotten by our Lord and how so many people have come forward to help. With gratitude in their eyes they asked us to thank you.

We ask you please to continue to pray for those this pandemic is hitting hardest all over the world.

“The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.” Proverbs 22:9
