Yasmin’s Story

Yasmín entered to VOH, when she was 10 years old, without having had the opportunity to attend school in her life. And furthermore, without even having his name legally registered, her family never legalized her birth. On her diagnostic evaluation, Yasmin showed that she had little educational knowledge; she could not read or write, but she had a deep interest in learning and acquiring new knowledge. She officially started School and one day at lunch, it was raining and she was in the library and she asked her friend to tell her what it said in the book she had chosen and since she started School, she took advantage of all the resources and classes to start her learning journey and in a short time she was able to read and write. She reflected deep emotion and gratitude when reading her first words.

Since then she has not stopped learning and overcoming her own educational challenges, demonstrating that she is capable of achieving everything she sets her mind to, managing to pass her first grade and doing it with an average of 94 points.
